Good Read!

I recently finished reading Robert Penn's "It's all about the bike: Pursuit of Happiness". I really enjoyed reading this book. It was well written, it had great flow, great topics, seemingly good data, etc. There was one thing I didn't like about the book and you will see my comments regarding the same in my concluding remarks.
The book's main story is about the build of a custom steel bike for the author. With this as the backdrop, the book talked a lot about the history of the bicycle: Draisene, Velocipede, High Wheeler, Rover Safety, etc; talked about different types of steel, wheel building, forks, headsets, saddles, tires, spokes, bicycle touring, etc., in a very passionate and articulate manner. I really enjoyed all that. I learned a whole bunch of things about bicycles.

Towards the end of the last chapter, the author chose to use expletives. I did not care for it. Don't get me wrong, I ain't the "holier than thou" type, but I am selective. The rest of the book had great style and much going for it. I wish the author had avoided using the expletives in the last chapter. It felt as though the Pastor who gave an excellent sermon,  ended the sermon with, something unparliamentary.

I would recommend this book as a good read, in spite of the expletives in the last chapter.

Peace :)
