Chain of Rocks Bridge - Part II

Here is a view of the water intake tower from the Chain of Rocks Bridge. In fact, where you see the ripples in the water, behind the tower, is the Chain of Rocks.
Fantastic sight.

Don't miss it, if you are ever in the St. Louis, Missouri area.

Peace :)

Je t'aime

Needless to say, I love riding my bicycles. It is so addictive, in a great way. Needless to say, I particularly love riding my Brompton.
Dont' get me wrong. I love all bicycles.
But, Bromptons have a special place in my heart.

Peace :)

Shake it up!

I have been trying to add a shake a day to my food intake. Sometimes I replace a meal with a shake and sometimes the shake is an addition - a treat.

One of my many experiments with shakes that turned out to be very delicious is the Orange-Kale-Banana-Ginger Shake. I use half-a-banana (instead of a whole one), 1 cup of Kale, 1 small piece of ginger root, 1 small orange, 1 small green apple, few ice cubes and some Almond milk, to make this shake. As usual, use your favorite blender to make the shake.

Mucho delicious!

Bon app├ętit :)

Picture Perfect

Finally managed to frame the two postcard versions of the posters, which I bought at the Posters of Paris exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art.

Now, I have find a nice spot for these two framed pieces of art in the CMA (Chandra Museum of Art) :)

Peace :)

Chain of Rocks Bridge - Part I

Chain of Rocks bridge used to be one of my favorite places to visit and ride the bridge across, back when I lived in Missouri. If I go to Missouri, on a vacation, I would definitely revisit this beautiful area. The Chain of Rocks bridge is across the Mississippi, connecting Missouri and Illinois. And, is a part of Route 66.

The Chain of Rocks bridge was built in 1929 and was actually used by automobile and other traffic. Today, it is a pedestrian and bicycle bridge. There is a lot of cool information here, in case you are interested in reading more about this bridge.

Peace :)

All's well

Hope all is well with my readers.

I have been busy the first two weeks of 2013. Yet, I managed to ride about 25 miles over the weekend and have added walking to my daily health routine.

We have had a few cold days in Texas. Today and tomorrow are going to be rainy days. Given my busy schedule and deadlines, I have not ridden to work this week - yet. Hope to ride at least two days this week and ride a few miles over the weekend.

Below is a picture of our MUP along the canal at twilight.

Posters of Paris

I had the fortune of visiting the Dallas Museum of Art over the holidays. In particular, we saw the Posters of Paris exhibit, which was a great treat; from many points of view, including art, print making and cycling.

Below are a couple of snaps from the collection. There were many cycling memorabilia for the velo-curious.

I noticed that I had most, if not all, of the good cycling books that the museum store was selling. I got a chuckle out of that!

I bought myself a couple of printed postcards.

Peace :)
