Chain of Rocks Bridge - Part III

The car that won't hurt no cyclists :)
Antique car seen on The Chain of Rocks Bridge, in good ole' Saint Louis.

Brahma meets Downtube

Both today and yesterday were gorgeous days in Dallas. I didn't get to ride today, as I had other things to do, around the house and such. But I met up with my friend Sho and we went on a short ride along the Campion Trail and the local canals.

Amazing azure sky, warmish 60s. Who wouldn't want to be outdoors, eh?
The Cormorants decided to bask in the sun. One good thing about where I live is that there are so many birds. I love watching these birds, especially the Cormorants. They have phenomenal fishings skills.
Another view of the path along the canal. It is very well-maintained and if you want to avoid riding the streets, this is one way to get to the Campion Trail.
Mr. Sho brought his Downtube VIII FS (Full Suspension) folder. It doesn't only look nice. It rides nice too. I have never ridden one, but I trust Sho. If he says it rides nicely, I am certain it does.
We rode to the end of the Campion Trail, over by California Crossing. After that we headed back towards our respective homes. Pictured below is Brahma at a Seven Eleven, where we stopped to fill-up our water bottles.
It was great to get out, meet a friend and share our thoughts on a wide range of topics, including cycling and life as such.

Hope your weekend was great as well.

Re-purposing an old friend

I stopped using my Road ID, a couple of years ago, as I simply did not want to wear anything on my body. I always carry some form of idenitfication on me, such as my Driver's License. Now, that I don't use the Road ID, I decided I will re-purpose the wrist-band. Of course, it was cycling related.

Tofu Veggie Nedley

My recent creation - Tofu Veggie Medley. The thing I like most about this dish is that it is not only very nutritious and great tasting, but it is also very easy to fix.

It is very simple to make:
1. Stir-fry the tofu. I seasoned my tofu with cumin, garlic and ground black pepper.
2. Steam a pack of Oriental Mix vegetables (or your own selection, if you prefer).
3. Add salt to taste.
4. Add the veggies to the tofu mix
5. Serve hot with or without brown rice. I served mine on a bed of spinach, with some avocados.

Bon appetit' :)

Dinotte 2 Brahma

Since starting to use Brahma as my primary commuting bike, roughly two years ago, I removed all battery powered lights from most of my bikes. I say mostly, because the Raleigh Twenty still has battery powered lights on it.

Recently, I decided to put the Dinotte tail light back on Brahma, since I have been commuting in the evening rush-hour traffic.Don't get me wrong - I am not intimidated by the traffic. But, I want to very visible. I don't mind increasing my visibility one bit.

Kickstand for the Thorn

Since buying the Thorn Nomad, I didn't put a kickstand. As long as i was willing to use the Click-Stand or was willing to lean it against a wall or a tree or a fence, parking the bike was no biggie.

However, if i had my cargo trailer attached to the Thorn, it wasn't always easy parking the bike, by leaning it against a stationary object. For instance, it was always tricky loading the trailer without the bike falling.

So, after lunch contemplation, I put an Esge center kickstand on the Thorn Nomad.

Since then shopping has been a breeze on the Thorn with the trailer attached.

Now, I need to find a way to pay for "all" the shopping I do!
