Snack Break

There is one healthy choice for snacks, should I get hungry, on my way commute back from work. There is a Publix grocery store near the bus stop. I usually stop at the Publix and buy one small banana, some cheese, or,  a snack bar of sorts, if I get hungry. Usually, these coupled with a nice drink of water is sufficient nutrition until I get home < 3 mile ride to home, at this point. The alternative to getting something to snack at Publix is to go to Burger King and get a veggie burger. But, I only do this if I am desperate and I feel like I can't make it home. One good thing about the BK is that they let me park my bicycle inside, even if I don't buy anything, and just want to use their facilities and fill-up my water bottle. So, Hooray to Roswell Marketplace BK for being Bicyclist Friendly!

On this particular day, I chose a different snack than the usual. I chose to have some olives and a Luna Bar. I didn't think that they were made for women only. I did not regret either choice, although I later figured I could have saved half the olives for later. The Luna bar was very tasty and had less sugar than Clif or other bars which I looked at. Some Clif bars have 25 gms of sugar. Luna bars have half that. So, if you need to watch your sugar or Total Carbohydrates intake, this is something you may want to consider, when you for a snack bar.
Today, I decided to get the official word on the Luna Bar's suitability for men from Luna's website: "Men, too, can enjoy LUNA. There is nothing in a LUNA bar that is not good for men. However, LUNA bars are specifically formulated to provide women with the nutrients they often lack."

So, it is all good. I am not going to turn into a woman after all :)
No offense to the fine feminine gender or other genders.

By the way, I didn't know that Clif bars and Luna bars were both made by the same company. Go figure! More info on Luna Bars is available here.

Peace :)
