Playing with portraits 1

I have been playing with the iPhone camera a bit to see how I can improve taking quick snaps, without having to delve into complications and all.

For my experimentations with the iPhone camera, Chaka can work a lot of times, but I would say that Rambo is almost a definite bet.

One recent experimentation led to the following photographs in the collage.

What do y'all think?

Special Delivery

With an exception made, for a special delivery on Saturday, we received the blessing shown below :)

Talking about Special Delivery, how many of us remember this scene below?

Apart from showing off his sensational legs in the photo below {now, y'all laugh, ok?}, Daddy Dog is recovering from his PRP procedure on the knee fairly well.

Hopes to be fully ambulatory very soon.

I am preparing for the holidays in my own way.

That's all that's going on here in our neck of the woods.
How are you doing?

Have a Happy Weekend!

Peace :)

Breakthrough Meditation Technique

A cat in Dallas-Texas has developed a new way to bring about consciousness in people.

According to experts, the breakthrough is attributed to a cat known famously as BK.
BK uses a mathematical method called ‘step function’ to bring about consciousness.

Out goes the Chow In comes the Basil and the catters are resting

So, we finally got some cooler temps in North Texas.
In fact, a bit too cold, too soon, for some :)

So, with the new colder weather, someone who has been refusing to stay out in the yard, doesn't want to come in no more. Go figure :)

In comes the Basil plant. Too cold for it, at least right now.
Who knows though? Next week it could be back in the low 80s or some such.
Either way it is fine.
Change is good too.

The catters like to eat and sleep.
Particularly, the seniors.

And, some tired looking Juniors.

Have some laughs!

I think I can honestly say that I have watched all of the Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau.

While writing an Email to a work colleague today, I did use the phrase, "I will have a speaks with him", just to be funny.

Well, it reminded me of the good ole' days, when a buddy of mine and I used to converse in Clouseau. So, I looked up some Clouseau clips and I have shared a collection of Outtakes with you in this post.

Here is to laughs :)

Paying attention

I took the photographs in this post today, Friday, October 13th, 2017.
The reason to take the photo was that I was captivated by the effect of sunlight on the houseplant and the shadows cast.

After taking some photos, I combined a couple to make the one pictured below.
If you look at the rest of the photos in this post, you can easily figure out which photos went into the making of the collage first photo.

The careful eyed one will catch the kitty sleeping behind the plant, basking in warmth of the Fall sunlight. Some nice shadows cast by the window and the plants in this photo too.

Close-up of Rambo showing off his nice soft, luxurious tummy, enjoying the afternoon sun.
Last, but not the least, the houseplant's leaves and shadows they cast.

The things that we see when we pay attention. I mean exactly that. I am sure I have looked at these houseplants several times before, but didn't quite see them, if you know what I mean.

It helps to slow the unnecessarily hurried mind and go in the slow lane sometimes. Or even be still. Right here, right now.

Learning to fly?

A recent visitor who clung on to my truck's window from home till I got to work.

Talk about perseverance. I drove at 55 mph for about 2 miles on the service road. Rest of the places, I was driving at about 40. Total distance covered 6 miles.

When I got to work, I gently removed my little friend from the window using a little rag that I had in the vehicle and placed him in a flowerbed.
I did not know if he was learning to fly or he/she was long for this world at that point in time.

It was during my morning Tea that I saw my wife's text alerting me of Tom Petty's passing.
Favorite of many a music fan.

It is an assortment this time

That's right. You read the title correctly - this post contains an assortment of photographs, not necessarily in any special order.

I will give you a minute to guess what the first photograph is of :) In case you haven't a clue, you can see my little blurb about it at the very end of this post.
I had the day off Friday, so I did rest a bunch and spend time with my family. Black Kitty took a nap with me and was even friendly after I trimmed his nails :)
Sometimes, reflections can be very interesting. I love looking at reflections on many objects/surfaces, such as this reflection of a fence on a motorcycle's headlight.

Just in case.
The reflection in the first photo is one of a church. The photograph was taken by clicking at the television, while we were watching a British Murder Mystery show. If you enlarge the photo, you can see lot more details.

It has been a great week. Hope yours was too.

I am not saying I don't love sleeping :)

Shadow on bicycle commute route

Part of my bicycle commute takes me under a desolate part of a street under Texas Highway 121. I usuaully stop here to catch some shade.
Yesterday, it did get up there in temperature, so the shade was very welcome.

Why not a snap too, eh?

Allô, Aloe

On our walk, the Huntress and I spotted this succulent plant. The shadows cast by the plant and water droplets on which caught my eye this morning.

As I didn't have a camera with me, I came back home, left the huntress at home and went back to the location on my own to capture the following images.
Different view highlighting a different set of nuances.
I tried to identify the plant using Google, spending little time on the research.
I wonder if it is an Aloe plant.

Please click on the images to see more details in expanded view.

Recent addition to our friend's list.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please meet our friend, Sally The Salamander.

Factually speaking, I don't really know if the Salamander is a Sally or a Saleem or Santana. But, Sally she is, for now :)

I have added a crisper image for all the Sally lovers around the world :)

Sidewalk Shadow

Chaka and I spotted this fallen flower on the sidewalk on one of our walks.
The sun was right above our heads and the stem of the flower made a nice shadow on the concrete.
Hence, we decided will save the memory.

Skies so pretty

Texas sunsets are usually brilliant, especially in the summer.
This one is no different and the darkness adds a  it of mystery as well.
Linking with Skywatch Friday.

The skies can be interesting to observe. When I was a kid, I used to play, looking at the sky by looking into the mirror and walking without looking outside the mirror. It gave me the feeling of 'walking in the clouds'. Sometimes this made me lightheaded :) I am reminded of this by the photo below, in which, you will see another view of the beautiful sky, with puffy clouds, accented by some tree branches. Reflection seen on a motorcycle's gas tank lid.

Fashion Delivered with Style

We found a great Beauty Salon near our place and because we like our stylist so much, we decided to give a second life to our magazines at the Salon.

This morning, I needed a trim.
Which self-respecting Chewbaca doesn't need a trim once in a while, eh? :)

As the Salon is close to our home, it is pleasant to get there on my bicycle, even during the hot summer of North Texas.

So, 'Fashion Delivered with Style' on Brahma :)
How nice is it to have a Bicycle Friendly Salon nearby?

Flowers from our garden

It was rainy this morning and when it finally let up, what better way to spend one's time than photographing the splendor or flowers.

So, I spent a bit of time in our garden taking photos of some beauties.

Chaka refused to go with me as it was wet out.
What self-respecting dog wants to get her paws muddied up, eh? :)
