When it rains, it pours.

Our youngest kitty, Rambo stopped eating, late last week and we had to take him to the doctor.
When Rambo went to see the Vet, he was exhibiting signs of depression, sleepiness, a slight fever, and lack of appetite.
The Vet ran a bunch of tests and concluded that Rambo has a Congestive Heart Disease.
Next steps included an EKG.

However, the night before he went for the exams, I thought I spotted some funky wound like thing on his posterior. But, I could not locate the same a few minutes later. I let it go.

The day after the exam, I ran my fingers over Rambo again and found that he had a wound on his right buttock. Rambo let us know that spot was painful when we washed and cleaned it.

I took Rambo back to the same Vet the next morning and asked about the same.
Well, they 'found' it since my showing where the wound was.
No apology or reduction in bill offered - go figure!

We are all shook-up. But, staying positive that the best outcome will occur.
Looking for another Vet or a second opinion, on/after Tuesday next week.

Choko is doign much better. He is eating and acting normally.
BK is doing well also.

I will leave you with this song by Sting, featuring Anoushka Shankar (daugher of the great Sitarist Ravi Shankar). Not intended to imply anything in particular, but it is just a good song.

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all!

Buddha and the Choko Cat

This photo was taken last weekend, when Choko decided to spend some time in the garden, helping his mum.
Choko is showing signs of improvement. He is EATING !!

Given our fur baby is doing well, all is well in paradise, shall we say? :)

I will leave you with one of my favorite songs by Cat Stevens.

NOW - it is

Hi all-

TGIF- The weekend is here :)

Here is a collage of all our fur babies, a visitor and a Magnolia photo.
Both vet and radiologist think Choko has small cell lymphoma. Choko had his first Chemo treatment on Thursday. No biopsy, surgery, etc. Should see improvement in a few days.

Choko is social, cheerful, wants to be with us, doesn't need any help getting around. Eats in small amounts and does his business. Choko is 90+ in human years. We are happy with the results.

The present moment is all one ever has.

That's all the updates for now.

Happy Mothers Day to all the great mothers out there.

More hotties

Today we took Choko (bottom left in the collage below) to a new Vet, so we can get a second opinion.
Some tests were performed, but the results won't be known till Monday.
We are hopeful and staying positive.

I created the collage below today. The photo of BK and Rambo is one that my wife took.  It is a rare thing for the former king and the new king to sit next to each other without too much tension. Or, so it appears to us humans :)
While at the Vet's office we met a female BK who was wanting to meet with Choko.
The doggie is my motorcycle mechanic's.
She is a sweetie.

Next, we have three photos of photos from the Vet's office.
Hottie too
Smoking hot!
Next, we have several photos of photos, which cat owners (and others) can learn a lot from.
Some of us may already know these facts, but I figure it would be useful.
Cats & Parasites-
Cats and Tooth Resorption- this is a painful disease. Choke lost almost all his teeth to this disease. BK lost a bunch of teeth as well.
Heartworm Disease-
Making the trip to the Vet comfortable-
