Little bit of this and that

First off, all is well with all of us.
I have been a bit busy with work and also more involved in Instagram than writing blog posts.
Hence, the less frequent blogging.
So, now that I have come out and admitted that, we can move on :)

Rambo continues to practice Yoga and now is reading the book by the famous Iyengar of Iyengar Yoga as shown below .

Chaka has mastered the art of begging for Chapathi and is very successful at getting one.

I took a few days off to recharge.
Hence, we were able to visit the neighboring city of Grapevine, Texas, for a stroll down Main.
Where we found some delicious offerings for the Furry Family members {beard hair does not qualify}!

I went around the neighborhood for a bit yesterday in search of interesting things to photograph.
I found a nice Pear Tree with a lovely sky background to go with it.

The HOA has done a great job of maintaining the garden around the swimming pool.
I saw a good collection of Winter Pansies (I think that's what they are) by the pool.
I think the yellow flowering vine on the fence around the pool is a variety of Jasmine.

Later that evening, we were at Salata in Coppell, Texas, for dinner. Salute offers great many salads.
The interior of Salata was very pleasing and I saw some cool shadows there, such as the shadow that looks like a cross in the picture below.

Lastly, I wish to share with you some reflections I saw in a mirror at the Main Street Bistro & Bakery in Grapevine, Texas. Great food and great ambience!

I will leave you with a song from Santana's Shaman album, a song by Michelle Branch.

Have a Happy Weekend!

  1. Love the sky photo!
    Cute furbabies
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  2. Hello, Rambo is a busy kitty reading and practicing his yoga. Chaka is a beautiful dog, he knows what he wants. Great shadow shot, love the pretty sky and flowers. Thank you so much for linking up your post. I appreciate your comment and visit too. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

  3. Interesting capture on things happening around and Chaka is same as our Maya and she too use ask for chapatti when we eat. Lovely flowers and shadow image

  4. Rambo is soooo cute! Love Chaka's face! The flowers are beautiful. Makes me want to get my window boxes planted. The song is awesome!

  5. Strangely enough, the shadowy bistro photo is hauntingly beautiful.

  6. Wonderful series of photos ~ the kitty buddha and your doggie photo!

    Happy Weekend to you,

  7. Wonderful photos! I love the B&W of the mirror! Hey, you live near Grapevine TX? We used to live in Ledbetter, and I worked at the Festival Institute in Round Top for five years!

  8. A nice busy post! I hope you don't give up on blogging! ;-))

  9. Nice photos. You know, my instagram activity has robbed my blogging. I used to post every day on my blog, now about 1 to 3 times a week typicallly. I almost always do two posts per day on Instagram.

  10. The sky shot and the reflection in the mirror are terrific! I say, if Instagram fits your passions, stick with it! Life is too short to invest time in something you are not enjoying!

  11. No wonder Rambo is better at Yoga than I am -- he studies writings of the Master. I love the Barkery sign -- what smart people to start a bakery for furry visitors. (Although it does look like Chakra gets delicious treats at home already!)....
I only do one blog post a week now but not because I am busy on any other social media, just because one is all I have time for if I am going to visit other bloggers --- oh and also have time to live a real life too!! I have deep admiration for people like you who can work full time take care of their family and still find time to write beautiful blog posts (and I am sure post beautiful pictures on Instagram.).

  12. Great to hear all is well with you......
I hope that you don't stop blogging but if it no longer has that draw for you anymore concentrate on what does fire you up and if that is Instagram so be it.......

  13. Better to have too much to do, than nothing at all to do.
Hey, if a cat can't do yoga, then nobody can...

Sand Burrs - Not a friend of Shaggy Dog!

Shaggy and I drove to Cedar Hill yesterday so I can get turn in my Texas State Park Pass voucher and get official pass from the TX Parks Office at Cedar Hill State Park.

We stopped at the Joe Pool Lake to check it out. It was a hot, yet beautiful day here in Dallas. Shaggy didn't appreciate the heat. He hid under the bench.
While this photo is not very crisp, I still want to show it so y'all can see the devastating effect the burrs had on Shaggy's face, which you can see in the next photo.

After we got done with the official business, we decided to go hike the Duck Pond Trail at the Cedar Hill State Park. Little did I know about the dangers of taking a Old English Sheepdog walking in a trail abundant with the infamous Sand Burr. The result:
Those evil things got all over his face and he started rubbing his face with his paws and the burrs from the paws got transferred to his face and it was just a really horrible mess.

I tried pulling them burrs off but in vain. There were way …

Out goes the Chow In comes the Basil and the catters are resting

So, we finally got some cooler temps in North Texas.
In fact, a bit too cold, too soon, for some :)

So, with the new colder weather, someone who has been refusing to stay out in the yard, doesn't want to come in no more. Go figure :)

In comes the Basil plant. Too cold for it, at least right now.
Who knows though? Next week it could be back in the low 80s or some such.
Either way it is fine.
Change is good too.

The catters like to eat and sleep.
Particularly, the seniors.

And, some tired looking Juniors.

It is an assortment this time

That's right. You read the title correctly - this post contains an assortment of photographs, not necessarily in any special order.

I will give you a minute to guess what the first photograph is of :) In case you haven't a clue, you can see my little blurb about it at the very end of this post.
I had the day off Friday, so I did rest a bunch and spend time with my family. Black Kitty took a nap with me and was even friendly after I trimmed his nails :) Sometimes, reflections can be very interesting. I love looking at reflections on many objects/surfaces, such as this reflection of a fence on a motorcycle's headlight.
Just in case.
The reflection in the first photo is one of a church. The photograph was taken by clicking at the television, while we were watching a British Murder Mystery show. If you enlarge the photo, you can see lot more details.

It has been a great week. Hope yours was too.
